August is a very special month for me and my husband as it is the last month where we have to pay for the monthly amortization of the loan that we got five years ago to purchase our house and lot in Bulacan.

It was five years ago when hubby and I decided to make our first major investment and purchased the house and lot that our relative is selling. We just got married then and we don’t have that much savings in our bank account but we decided to go ahead with the investment. And I can’t believe that five years just passed by like that and we are finally finish with one of our financial challenge.

To celebrate, hubby and I bought each other gifts that we can't afford to buy before because we are paying for our monthly amortization. We bought modern furniture as our gift for each other to upgrade the old and outdated furniture that we have at home as hubby knows that I have long been wanting to replace them. Then hubby bought me a Philip Stein watch and I bought him a new toy, his Canon 50D.

It was really difficult financially while we are paying for the monthly amortization of our housing loan but hubby is really right, that we did not make a wrong choice for this investment and I am really glad that I let hubby convinced me to make this investment.

For A Better Future

I am not the typical girl who loves to wear accessories and jewelries whether it’s gold, white gold or even silver. Actually, I would prefer bags instead of these.

But this made me realize that even if I don’t want to wear gold, I can still collect them in many other ways. But then, I’m still not sure if I can afford to buy gold bars but this won’t stop me for I can always settle for anything less. Like for instance, gold coins can be a lot cheaper than gold bars so I guess I can deal with that when it comes to investments since it also has a great value that doesn’t easily depreciate, which is a very useful tool that we can consider in the future.

So I guess, from now on, I’ll have to budget my money for this and start my new investments for the benefit of my whole family.

I'm Loving My iPhone

I’ve been using my brother’s WiFi router for two consecutive days and as of now; I’m enjoying its services though sometimes, the connection is slow. But the good thing about it is, I was able to fix my iPhone and I was able to download some games for Bela.

In addition to this, I was able to figure out how to install my ebooks in my phone. My sister has been trying to discover this and she thought that it was complicated to install that’s why she refused to try it agin. So when I had a free time this afternoon, I tried to install some but I searched for other alternative application that can read ebooks rather than the one that my friends are currently using.

It is easier to use and I now have 5 ebooks in my iPhone. I am actually excited to load more ebooks and start reading them because my sister told me that the ebooks that my friends sent me are so much fun to read and they really have great stories that I’ll surely love.

Shopping Day With My Family

Yesterday was another long day for me. My brother asked me a favor if I can help them to shop for their baby. Her wife will give birth in about two months so they are starting to buy the things that they will need. But since this will be their first child, they still don’t have enough idea on the things to buy.

And so, I asked my mom and my sister if they can come so that Cobi can come too and I will also need them because I also need to shop for my dress. Good thing that they both agree with the plan.

We fetch Bela from school at around 3pm and after that, we went straight to Glorietta. Before we went shopping, we decided to eat first at Shakey’s since we were all starving. When we were done, we immediately looked for the Baby’s section and started buying the things they need. I had so much fun with this because for me, it’s really enjoying when you shop for girls because there are various cute dresses and accessories for them.

After that, we only had an hour left to do my own shopping so I went to some of the boutiques that I usually visit and I was totally in a hurry. I searched for a nice dress fortunately I was able to find one and my sister and mom was also able to buy there dresses as well.

We went home at around 9pm and we were all dead tired that we almost fell asleep on our way home.

Times are really though nowadays and it is really important that we should learn how to save up for the rainy days especially now that we have two kids. So hubby and I have been doing some readings and we have been asking around and we received a number of suggestions that it is wise to invest in precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum.

Maybe we just need to buy a WiFi router instead and just retain our Smart Bro connection.

The Creamery Promo

The Creamery resto and Ice Cream bar is one of the new restaurants located at Kids Universe in SM Mall of Asia. We inquired there for the party of our daughter and I left them my contact number. And I just received a text message from them of their on going promo.

To Switch or not to Switch

My brother just subscribed to Globe’s WiFi Internet service. I wish to switch too as I want to try other Inter providers. I have been with Smart Bro for more than two years already. I can’t say that I am not happy with their service but I can’t say too that I am satisfied with their service as their connection is really slow especially when hubby and I are online at the same time. The only thing that I like about them is that they have steady connection and I rarely get interruption of service even during the rainy days which was my problem with them before.

My brother let me borrowed his Globe WiFi modem and I am trying it out now and I find the connection slow. LOL. I will still give it a try for a few days before I finally decide if I will have my Smart Bro connection disconnected or not.

New Skin

This blog needs a new template I know. I noticed a few days that my header image is not showing up but it is either I am swamped with work, I am sick, or I am just plain lazy so I was not able to find the time to look for a new template for this blog.

But as soon as I am finish with my batch of work for this week, I will have to sit down and find time to look for a new skin for this blog as it is already irritating me seeing a blank header image for this blog and with this sore eye sign which says “This image or video has been removed or deleted.”

Beauty Training for Me?

My sister is always saying that I really look haggard especially after giving birth. She suggested that I should learn to put make-up on and do some hair styling so I can style myself up so I will not look old and haggard.

How I wish I can easily do that because I really have no talent when it comes to hair and makeup. Maybe I should enroll to beauty school in Wichita so I can learn how to be a good hair and makeup artist.

Jacobo @ 1.5 months

I posted a recent picture of Jacobo in his blog and I can’t believe that he is that big already. He actually looks like he is more than three months old already when in fact he is only one and a half month old.

When we went to his pediatrician when he turned one month, he is already 9.9 pounds from 6.5 pounds when he was born. I actually don’t know how much he weighs now only after two weeks (maybe I should really get one of those bathroom scales so we can check his weight even when at home) but I am sure he gained weight again.

We actually put out the clothes size 6 months and up, that we set aside because we thought that he won’t be using it in a few months but we were wrong because he is already wearing onesies for six month old baby. LOL.

But I am happy that my baby is really growing up to be a healthy baby boy and I am really thankful for that.

SATC 2...Finally

Finally, I was able to watch the second part of Sex and the City movie. I know, I know I am such a looser. It has been shown in theaters months ago and I have bee waiting for it to be shown before it was released but things got a little crazy during the time that it was shown in theaters. So sadly, I missed it.

But thanks to hubby, he got me the DVD and while B was in school yesterday, I was able to finally watch it. As soon as I saw the opening of the movie with the steel buildings and the skyscrapers and with Carrie and the girls so fashionably dressed, I got really excited right away.

Some say that the second movie is no match to the first part and they love the first movie better. But I actually like the movie. Maybe it is because the movie is all about marriage and parenting and I can totally relate with the girls.

I will really watch it again one of these days….

How to Make Money

Since I have some spare time in my hands now that I am on maternity leave (and thanks to my mom who is really helping me in taking care of Jacobo), I was able to do some clean up of B’s closet and was able to gather two big bags full of B’s old clothes. Majority of them are still in very good condition as she had only worn it maximum of twice per clothes.

Now I am thinking how I shall dispose it. Should I just give it again to our neighbors? Or should I do what my online friends are doing and sell B’s stuff at an online auction. They say it is very easy to do as I can easily setup my own free store and I have the options to set a fixed price or auction the items.

My friends are saying that they have earned a great amount of cash by doing this. At least it will give me the budget to do some shopping again. LOL.
