Saturday 9: Should I Stay or Should I Go

1. Have you ever been on a date and you had to tell the person to just go away? I would have wanted to but I can’t be that rude and find the guts to tell the person to just go away.

2. Do you wish you were someplace else right now? If yes, where? In Shangri-la hotel in Boracay. Summer is really here and it is really very hot and humid and so spending a wonderful time in the beach would be wonderful.

3. Do you have any pet peeves? People who talk so loudly when inside a movie theater.

4. Tell us about a guilty pleasure of yours. Eating bars of chocolate especially now that I am pregnant.

5. If you could change places and become a celebrity, who would you'd like to be? I love my life as it is. Celebrities don’t have that much privacy and I bet they have a very busy schedule so I won’t trade my life right now for a life of a celebrity.

6. What do you consider your biggest talent? Sadly, I have no talent. Maybe, blogging and being able to multi-task.

7. Do you have a favorite actor/actress that is not a big star, yet they are your favorite? Elliot Yamin. He is just a second placer in American Idol but I really love him to bits.

8. Name your five favorite rock bands of all time. Sorry, I am bad with music also. I can’t even think of one band that I love.

9. If you were to start a new relationship (for whatever reason), how much of your sexual history would you share? Would you resort to lying? Nothing, I don’t like sharing about my past.

Chiropractic Anyone?

My husband has been complaining for pain in his back for days now. He already had a massage but it seems that it did not solve his problem. He consulted a doctor also about his problem, and his doctor did not find anything wrong although the pain is still there.

So now he is trying to look for other methods of treatment and that is when he heard about Hassel Family Chiropractic. Dr. Vince Hassel has a very solid experience when it comes to Family Chiropractic because he has been servicing patients of all ages in West Des Moines for 13 years now and he already treated more than 10,000 patients already.

After hearing his background, my husband got really interested and he is confident that he will be in good hands with Dr. Vincent Hassel. My husband believes that Dr. Hassel will be the answer to his problem and might even help him have a better and healthy life.

Better Bathrooms from BetterBathrooms.Com

One of my favorite legs when hubby and I were finally able to go on our dream Europe vacation was our two day stay in Venice. One of the reasons why it is my favorite, aside from the fact that the city is really to die for is because it is one of our destinations where we were able to hit jackpot with the hotel that we booked. Since most of the hotels in Europe are really expensive, we tried to book the cheapest hotels but we tried to splurge a bit for some of our favorite destinations.

Like the hotel where we stayed in Venice. The room that they gave us has a magnificent view of the Grand Canal, the room is big compared to the other hotels in Europe that we tried and I love their BathroomSuite. I even ask hubby to take a picture of it so we can have a pattern since we are also planning to renovate our bathrooms.

In fact as soon as we arrived home, I have been checking the site of BetterBathrooms.com to check their line of bathroom suites and I can’t seem to make up my mind since all of the items in their collection are all beautiful. Another plus factor is that they are even offering massive clearance sale for their bathroom suites.

What I like about BetterBathrooms is that they offer great service because they have a team of excellent and dedicated service team. They also guarantee 100% secure online shopping which is really important so I will feel safe using my credit card to purchase anything from them online and what is best is that they even offer next day delivery. So what more can you ask for?

For my Dad's Birthday

I can’t believe that it is the last week of February already and in just a few days, we will be welcoming March.

March 21 is the birthday of my dear daddy so I am already planning for my dad’s birthday. Aside from the e cigarette that I am planning to buy for him, I and my siblings are planning for a family outing as what we usually do every year.

Last year we went to Blue Coral Resort in San Juan, Batangas. It was a pretty relaxing vacation as the rate includes an all inclusive package for lunch, snacks, dinner, breakfast for the second day and our accommodation. The resort even has a pool so we can dip in the pool after enjoying the beach.

I haven’t called them yet if they still have available rooms for March 20 – 21 as I want to try out other resorts this time. I am checking out Camayan Resort in Subic so we can go to Ocean Adventure too (since it is just beside the resort) on our second day.

Anyways, I still have at least three weeks to prepare and hopefully I will be able to book soon as summer is already near and I am sure beaches and resorts are already fully booked during this time of the year. So wish me luck!

Baby Face Live in Manila

Before I look for Kohler faucets for the renovation of our house, I just have to make this post about Baby Face’s concert here in Manila.

I am a Baby face fan. I remember when I was still in college, his songs are my favorite and my companion every time I have to stay up late and study. He has written a lot of great songs that my generation really enjoyed.

So when I learned that he will be coming back to Manila (for the second time) this coming March 10, 2010, I got really excited (though I am still not sure if we can afford the tickets).

The concert will be at Araneta Coliseum on March 10 at 8 PM. Ticket prices is:

Patron VIP (Reserved Seating) 4020
Patron B (Reserved Seating) 3700
Lower Box (Reserved Seating) 2960
Upper Box A (Reserved Seating) 1900
Upper Box B1060
Gen. Admission530

I am okay with the Upper Box A tickets. I don’t have to see him up close anyways as I just want to hear his voice. I will call Ticketnet later and hope they still have good seats available.

Unhappy

My friend is bored with her work and she is no longer happy. She asked me if she should resign or not. Everyday is like a burden to her as she has to force herself to get out of bed and go to work.

Honestly, I don’t know what I should tell her. If she will ask me, I will not resign from work especially my work is our bread and butter and since I have a family to support, I can never resign unless I will be able to find a much better company than where I am now.

But I was able to figure out some suggestions that my friend can try to help her with her dilemma:

1. Why not take trainings like taking medical coding training courses so she can try other careers and explore her other career possibilities.
2. Go on a vacation. Everybody will reach a point in their career where they feel bored already and everything is just a routine. Maybe taking a break and getting out of the office for a while might help her rejuvenate her energy and her drive to enjoy work again.
3. Join clubs and organization in the office like bowling clubs, photography class, etc so she has an outlet where she can just relax and get her mind off work.

But in the end, I know it still boils down to her happiness. I told her that she has to really think on what can make her really happy and this will really help her with her decisions.

To The Beach

I saw an airline promo today where they are giving 50% off on selected flights for travel from June to December 31, 2010. When I saw their ad, I got really excited that I shared my excitement with my good friend Peachy and we both started to plan for a family vacation.

I checked the sites of resorts that we can check this time and I got really interested with Azul Beach Resort as I read that it is a family friendly resort which is what I am looking for since this is the first time that we will be traveling with an infant and a toddler in tow.

What I like about Azul Beach Resort is that they offer various activities that kids and adults will really enjoy. They even have a dedicated beach butler so we will really be pampered during our stay and we will be assured that we will have a relaxing time. They also offer an all-inclusive package which is really the best because we don’t have to think of anything else but to relax and enjoy their different amenities and food.

I am excited already and I am sure my husband can’t say no to this type of vacation.

Manic Monday # 200

What's your least favorite word?

I can’t think of any for now.

Where do you go when you need really good advice?

To my mom because I can easily talk to her about anything and for sure she has the wisdom to tell me what to do.

To my blogging and online friends because I always like to hear their two cents about any topic especially since they are mommies like me too.

Church because when I am confuse, I always find solace every time I pray and I know that after praying, God will give me a clear mind to know what to do next.

If you could participate in any winter Olympic sport, what would it be?

Figure skating. That is my frustration actually, though I really don’t know how to skate. LOL So I am planning to enroll my daughter to ice skating lesson this summer so at least she will be the answer to my frustration since she is really interested in learning how to ice skate.

@21 weeks

I subscribed to Baby Center’s Weekly Pregnancy update where they send me weekly emails on how my pregnancy is progressing.

I am now on my 21st week. My baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long. I can even feel the baby move as the baby starts to kick and nudge which I enjoy every time I feel my baby move. Hubby is really jealous as he wants to feel our baby’s kick also but I think the baby’s kick is still not that strong for hubby to feel it.

During this time, I feel more comfortable as the morning sickness is already gone and I am still not that big to do my everyday activity. But there is an increase in my oil production that is why my acne is worsening. I tried their suggestion of using gentle soap or cleanser twice a day but it doesn’t seem to solve my acne problem. I can’t take any acne medications though as it is not safe for the baby. Good thing there is an acne scar removal cream that I can use after I give birth to remove my acne scars.

It is also mentioned that I more prone to varicose veins now because there's an increase pressure on the veins in my legs. But my mom did not have any varicose veins problems when she was pregnant so I hope that I will be like her.

I am already halfway through my pregnancy and I am excited that we are really that close already in seeing our second baby.

PBB Big Date on Big Night

Status: Is watching PBB Big Date on Big Night

This is really bad. I still have a lot of things to do but instead of working, here I am glued to the TV so I am sure I will be staying up late again tonight to finish my work (so I better look for adult acne treatments too as I am sure my acne will act up again).

Actually this is the first time that I got hooked with this Pinoy Big Brother show. This has been their nth season already, they even had the celebrity edition but I never got hooked. Well maybe it is because the contestants have more interesting personalities for this season (my favorite is Tibo and Paul Jake because I like their disposition in life) and maybe it is because this is the longest season of Pinoy Big Brother ever (they stayed inside PBB house for 19 weeks). I can’t believe I even voted via SMS to support my favorite PBB housemate. LOL (how jologs can I be? LOL).

There is still nine minutes left to vote as of this writing. The commercial is still on and in just a few minutes we will all know who the big winner is. Go Paul Jake or Tibo. LOL.

Time to Upgrade?

Hubby said that we can order this Samsung LCD TV online:

And I really can’t believe the price when I saw it because it is affordable compared to prices here. It even offers free shipping. Hmm, now I am thinking because we really wanted to replace our TV in our the living room. You see, we have those old model TV that is really very big and occupies a lot of space. And with all the toys and things that our daughter has in our living room, there is not much room left for our other stuff. And with the coming of our second baby, I am sure that we will really need more room for the baby’s stuff like the crib, the stroller and the like.

So now I am thinking if it is really time to give up our big TV and time to upgrade to an LCD TV. I guess I have to make computations first because I really want to make sure that we have the budget to pay for it before I finally say yes to hubby.

On Insurance

My husband of my friend is going to Madrid and needs to apply for a Schengen Visa. She called me one weekend to ask me where we got our travel insurance since she needs to get one for her husband.

You see, a travel insurance is one of the requirements when getting a Schengen Visa. We got ours too from our agent where we get our term life insurance when we applied for a visa when we had our Europe vacation last year. Come to think of it, getting a travel insurance is really a must when travelling. We don’t really get one unless it is required but I realized it will be a protection too since we can use it while on travel like if we get sick while out of the country (which can be very expensive) or we are covered if we are late for our flight or something since some travel insurance covers fees that airline charges if you miss your flight.

So I guess travel insurance is really a must and something that should be a part of our important things to have when travelling.

@5th Month

I am already on my 5th month of pregnancy and so far everything is going well. I read from Baby center that this is the best point in my pregnancy because I start to feel okay because morning sickness are already gone by this time, I am already increasing my appetite and I am still not that heavy that I will still find it comfortable to walk around and sleep. (But for sure when I reached my third trimester, I will surely need sleeping aid so I will be comfortable with sleeping.)

We will have our 3D/4D ultrasound next month as well as a Congenital Anomaly Scan. I already inquired at Baby Ultrasound in SM and we might have our ultrasound there so we can do it on a weekend. Hubby is really excited already as I know he can’t wait to find out for the gender of the baby. He is even asking me if we can do it as early as now as he can’t wait already. But as per my doctor’s advice, 6th-7th month is the preferred month to have a 4D ultrasound plus we will be more sure of the gender of the baby by that time.

I am excited too but it will just be a couple of days more before we have our first glimpse of our second baby….

Thankful

I am really thankful because 2009 was a very good year for us. Hubby and my sideline were also doing good last year. He received a number of bookings for his photography business, he also received a number of contracts to set up a company’s network, he accepted sidelines for cad drawing, invitation and tarpaulin layouts and he sold some of his toy collections.

As for me, I received a number of assignments too for my sideline which helped me pay my credit card bills, enroll my daughter to her extra-curricular activities and even saved up for our dream vacation.

As we welcome 2010, hubby booked two events already for his photography business while my business is doing well too. Hubby is also starting to set up an online site where he can sell toys like McFarlene collections, Leapfrog toys and the like.

We went to church today and the sermon of the priest was that as long as you are hardworking and you always believe in the power of God, then you will have no reason not to progress. I am happy to hear that and my husband and I became more inspired to continue to work hard for the future of our kids.

Weekly Wrapup #53: Routinely

As we return to school and work and the holiday hustle settles, is there something that you look forward to doing again?

I can’t wait to go on an out-of-the-country tour with my family again. I know it just been a few months since we last went on vacation, but I really can’t get enough of vacation. Who wouldn’t? Because vacations are really the perfect time to bond and have fun with my family.

What do you find most stressful about the holidays?

The holiday shopping rush. I have a very long list for my Christmas shopping and sometimes because I am so busy, I don’t know how I can ever finish shopping for all those persons in my list.

And how do you deal with that stress?

Shopping. LOL. I shop more to deal with stress. But I shop more for me and my family. That is the best stress relieving experience for me (but wait till I get my credit card bills. LOL).

Boy or Girl?

I had my check up with my OB-Gyne today. I did not have an ultrasound as I just had one last month and my Bio-physical score is ok. My doctor advised me to have a congenital anomaly scan next month when I am already on my 25-26th weeks and hopefully we will know the gender of the baby also.

Though we don’t know yet if we will be having a baby girl or baby boy, most of my friends are telling me that looks like I will be having a boy this time. Do you know what they often say that pregnant moms look haggard and not pleasing when they are having a boy? LOL. Since I have lots of acne (that I badly need adult acne treatment) and I really don’t care how I look and most of them are really saying that I really look ugly, so they are suspecting that I am having a baby boy. Rude huh? LOL. But honestly, I can’t wait to see my neck turn dark or my nose will get big because we are really hoping that it will be a baby boy this time. Though we will still be happy if God will give us a baby girl. B will be so excited I am sure because she will have a playmate and I know that they will be really sweet to each other. I really can’t wait for that day to come….

For Our Growing Family

With the coming of the new baby, I am now more inspired to work hard so we can earn enough to provide for the needs of our two kids. Good thing my kumareng Peachy shared with me a site where I can look for freelance jobs – jobs in sales, jobs as a data encoder, even technical support jobs. What’s good about these job openings is that they are work-at-home jobs and some of them only require part time work. I was reviewing the job openings and some of them only require their employee to be online for 10 hours a week so I can easily do the job at night.

I am so excited already as I saw some job openings that are fitted for my qualifications. Though I am not finish updating my profile yet and my resume so I still need to work on that. Hopefully I will finish it this weekend so I can start applying. I read that getting my first job is the most challenging so I really have to make a good profile to impress the companies looking for candidates for their job openings.

So wish me luck guys.

LYNX Rayvens Anniversary Celebration

Last night, I met up with my Lynx barkada so we can talk about our plans on how we can celebrate our group’s anniversary. Actually, we have been exchanging emails already on each of our suggestions but we can’t agree on the activity and the date and so we decided to meet in person to discuss things more clearly.

So after the meeting, these are our options:

PLAN A: We will have a day tour at Tagaytay. We can visit the Paradizoo, have picnic at Picnic Grove, and then lunch at Sonya’s Garden. Then we can decide to go out when we reached Manila for drinks or coffee. Of course, the kids will be tagging a long with us so this is like a family outing also (Hubby will need to start drinking protein powder so he will have all the energy to ran after B the whole day and drive us to Tagaytay. LOL).

PLAN B: We will stay overnight at Balai Isabel as Me-ann’s hubby knows the owner and we can get discount. The kids can go swimming, play, while the mommies do their own thing and the daddies can either take care of the kids (LOL) or drink, or play cards. We even discussed the program that we will be having for our overnight stay. We will even have games and awards for all the Lynx members. LOL.

PLAN C: We will just celebrate here in Manila either in my house, or Me-ann or Issa’s house. It will be a potluck party and then we will have drinking and videoke.

No date has been set yet as we need to get a consensus first on the date when majority of us are free. Hope any one of this plans will push through. I am so excited already. Cheers to our friendship.

Saturday Six – More Questions to have fun with!

1. What’s the one thing that really annoys you? People who always want others to carry their baggage in life, who continuously bothers other people to survive and they are not even sensitive or is not even aware that they are causing too much trouble on other people. (Just thinking of those kinds of people really annoys me.)
2. If it was the end of the world what be the last thing you would try to do? I will just stay with my family and hug them and kiss them and tell them how much I really, really love them.
3. If you had the choice of designing a mobile phone what one feature would you add to it?
4. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds – it is a women’s best friend right.
5. Silver or gold? Silver.
6. Are you at home or work? Home. We went to the hospital for my check up and it is also the vaccine schedule of my daughter then as soon as we reached home, I just sleep until my head is already aching from too much sleep. LOL.

Shopping @ ON

As what I posted in my previous post, I am quite stressed out right now because I am thinking of lot of things. So before I search for information about hydroxycut, I have to do some de-stressing exercise first – what else but shopping.

I saw an email from Old Navy sitting in my Inbox today and they are having a maternity sale. Since I still need maternity blouses, I checked out their items on sale and this is what I have in my shopping cart now:

I still have a few items that I like but I haven’t added it up in my shopping cart yet as I am on a budget. LOL. But since I will be having another ultrasound next week (and hopefully we will know the gender already), this might be my last shopping for myself as I will start to shop for the baby already. So you think I can splurge this time? LOL.

SIGH

I will go crazy thinking about a lot of things (I am sure I will really need an effective hair loss cures). First is my tenant who hasn’t paid her rent for two months now and is going on her third month this end of February. She promised to pay tomorrow but I told my mom that if she fails to pay again, tell her to just pack their things and leave. I know it is rude but we are also using the money that we get from the rent to pay our car loan.

Then it has been almost three weeks already but we still can’t find a replacement nanny. We have a stay out nanny right now who goes to our house every morning to clean the house and prepare for B’s things but the whole day, my mom has to take care of B.

Then there is another problem that I don’t want to discuss here that I wish will just magically disappear. But I think I have two years left before this problem will totally leave our family.

All I can do now is sigh…..

Night Out With Lynx

I went home at around 2 AM this morning (so I am really sure my pimples and blackhead will pop out again and I will need an effective blackhead removal). This is the first time again after so many years that I went out with my friends without my husband. Since we still don’t have a yaya, hubby has to stay at home with B while I go out with my friends.

But it was all clean fun. We just had dinner at Congo Grille and we stayed there until the store closes. The dinner was courtesy of my good friend Edhi since she celebrated her birthday last week. Then we transferred to Starbucks so we can discuss about our plans for our barkada’s anniversary celebration (which is the real reason why we decided to meet up). Me-ann treated us for coffee and some desserts and then we proceed in discussing our options on how we can celebrate our anniversary (I will make a separate posts about all our plans).

Since the Starbucks is only open until 1:30 AM, we called the meeting off when the store closes. My friend Jaja took us all home and so I arrived safely at home at around 2 AM.

Sunday Stealing: The Pretentious Blogging Meme

3. Who inspired you? I am a part of a group whose members are soon- to- be weds like me and after reading their blogs about their diary of their wedding preparations, I was inspired to make my own blog too.

4. About how many hours a week would you estimate you spend on your blog? Minimum of 14 hours a week as I blog almost everyday.

5. What kind of experience or background do you have with writing? None. The only training I have is when I was asked to write essays in school.

10. Is there anything you will not blog about? I try to refrain from blogging about my rants (especially about rants about work. LOL).

11. Do you have any sort of a publishing schedule in terms of day of week or topic? None really as I blog if I want to share something that happened in my life to my readers so there is really no definite schedule for my publishing.

Gold = Wise Investment

A friend approached me one day and asked me what will I do if I loose my job. I was speechless after hearing her question because honestly, I don’t know the answer because I don’t know how our life will be if I loose my job. This made me realize that I should not just be contended with my job and improving my career but I should look at doing some investments so I have a fall back just in case I loose my job.

I did some research and found the site of United States Gold Bureau and after reading all the information from their site, it made me realize that it is really time to buy gold bullion.

Now that the economic status is very unstable, investing is really a big risk that is why it is really important to choose the best investment that will not put your hard earned money to waste. United States Gold Bureau can help newbie investors like me to choose the best gold investment because their experts can help us make wise investment decision.

Gold is widely accepted, is indestructible and doesn’t depreciate in time so I believe that it is really a very wise investment.
