Still Thankful

My daughter and I are home alone today. Hubby’s office is supposed to be close today but their boss asked him to report to work as all essential personnel should be present in the office just in case there is an emergency.

Hubby left early as he is worried that roads are still flooded, and when I woke up, I realized that we don’t have stocks left and so yaya was not able to cook anything for breakfast. I opened my wallet and was surprised to find out that I have no cash left also. LOL. And then yaya mentioned that our kitchen faucet also needs repair.

But in spite of these boo-boos, I am still thankful because after two days, we already receive news from my aunt who has been affected by typhoon Ondoy. They are now safe and are staying in Camp Crame (his hubby’s office). My mom, my dad and my uncle are already on their way to Camp Crame to deliver supplies like clothes, bags, food, nebulizer, medicines, etc since they were not able to save anything when their house got flooded. They may have lost their material things, but we are still thankful because my aunt and her family are all safe.

Addicted to House MD

Hubby is really a big fan of House MD, the TV series, while I on the other hand only watch it if I find the time. When hubby and I left for vacation, we made sure that we loaded our Iphones with all the episodes of House MD from Season 1 – 5 since we know that we will be travelling for long hours. And since then, I got really hooked.

The cases that they tackle in the show are really unique and interesting, add to that the very peculiar and intriguing personality of Dr. House. One of the cases that I like was when Dr. Foreman got infected by a virus which they can’t figure out at first. Their first suspect was asbestos or other chemical poisoning (which reminds me of the Mesothelioma lawyers that I was researching about). Dr. Cameron even has to drill a hole in Foreman’s head to get a sample of his brain tissue to study the virus that is killing him. Of course the ending of the story is they were able to figure out the virus and Foreman live.

I am also getting hooked because of the love angles in the story: Wilson being involved to Amber (House former apprentice), House being attracted to Dr. Cutty, Foreman to one of House’s apprentice who is a bi-sexual and of course the wedding of Chase and Cameron.

I am almost finish with Season 5 and I am excited for the beginning of the new season of House MD.

Typhoon Ondoy

Have you seen this video in youtube?

Our power was only restored yesterday afternoon so I only saw the magnitude of typhoon Ondoy yesterday. We were even enjoying our bonding time with our daughter, we were playing shadow puppets with her Saturday evening, and we did not even realize that a lot of our kababayans are in deep danger already.

They say that Typhoon Ondoy is the same as Hurricane Katrina that cause great damages to lives and property in the US. But according to Pag-asa, Hurricane Katrina is no match to typhoon Ondoy as it dumped a total of 455 millimeters of rain in Quezon City alone in 24 hours, compared to the 250 millimeters of rain of Hurricane Katrina. No wonder areas that are not affected by flood before, suddenly experienced knee deep or waist deep flood.

I was watching the news yesterday and there are already more than 70 people who died because of the typhoon (I hope they have return of premium life insurance so at least their families are covered).

I remember the last time I experienced the same intensity of typhoon was a few years ago, with Typhoon Milenyo. Milenyo just passed Manila for a few hours but it caused terrible amount of damages. After watching the effects of Typhoon Ondoy, I can’t help but feel scared as we can really see the effects of Global Warming.

Let us pray that all of us will be safe and let us all pray for all the victims of typhoon Ondoy.

Hard Habit to Break

Ever since we got back from our vacation, I got used to sleeping late (around 2-3 AM). Since 2-3 AM is just around 9-10 PM in Europe, even after three weeks I am still in sync with Europe time and I still find it hard to sleep early. But the difference now is I am only getting 3 hours of sleep everyday because I have to wake up early to go to work and I guess time will come when this bad habit will hit a toll on my body. And I was not mistaken since yesterday; I had a very terrible headache. It was so terrible that even after taking my pain reliever I can still feel the throbbing pain in my head that I am already crying and vomiting because of the extreme pain.

I am so thankful because my husband and my daughter were there beside me to ease away the pain. But my husband reminded me that I should stop my nasty habit and I should start sleeping early again. Otherwise, I won’t just need wrinkle creams to cover the wrinkles and my eye bags, but I have to visit my doctor soon since he knows that I am abusing my body.

I know this will be hard for me to do since I got used to working late specially I have a lot of pending work to finish but I guess this bad habit is really not good for my health especially we are also trying for baby # 2. I have to work hard I guess because my husband is right, what I am doing will not do me any good….

My Farm

I am living my farm, my farm in Farm Town that is. I used to be a Farm Town addict. During those months when I was really busy with school work, Farm Town is my stress reliever. I will log in to my Facebook account only because I want to visit my farm.

But then I discovered Farmville and boy it has a lot of cooler features than Farm Town. In Farmville, I can earn coins too from the animals in my farm since I can collect eggs, collect truffles, collect milk, etc which is not available in Farm Town. I can even buy a lot of stuff in the Market like horse supplements, tree house, tractor, and even a hot air balloon. How cool is that?

Although I am richer in Farm Town (I already own a barn house and a small farm house) than in Farmville and I am already Level 21 in Farm Town, compared to my Level 10 in Farmville I still love Farmville more. And I know I can easily improve my Level in Farmville with a few more plowing and planting.

Daddy Knows Best

My nanny forgot to tell us again that we are already out of supply for our mineral water. And since it is the middle of the night already, we have to wait till morning before we can order and have it delivered at our house. I should have listened to hubby when he suggested that we should just get ukf7003axx PuriClean water filter. At least we don’t have to rely on my nanny and our water supplier as we can easily use our tap water as our drinking water. Oh, well lesson learned. Now I really know that when it comes to this kind of things, the man of the house really knows best. LOL.

And speaking of home improvements, hubby wants to start the renovation of our house in Bulacan next year. I guess he is really serious. He said that Manila is so polluted and so crowded for us already and looks like he is really keen on us moving in Bulacan. Sometimes I love the idea of living in the outskirts, sometimes I am thinking if I cam survive a life there as I find our area in Bulacan boring. LOL. Especially in my case who has live in the city all my life. We will see. …

ME Time

I had my “Me” time last Friday. I have to go to Robinson’s Place to do some errand and since I still have to wait for hubby, I decided to have my much needed Facial.

I can’t remember the last time I visited my dermatologist. The girl who is doing my facial even asked when I had my last facial because I guess she noticed how bad my skin is. LOL. I guess it was really that long time ago since I did not remember too that getting a facial is not the best “ME” time activity since I was really almost in the brink of tears while the girl was cleaning my face as it was too painful. LOL.

But I am till happy as I have been planning to do this for the longest time now and I am glad I was able to do it last Friday. I discovered also that they also do Diamond Peel so I will probably try that next time.

Mio Fights Cancer the Concert

I got an email in one of my yahoo groups about an invitation to support the Benefit Concert to raise funds for the medical expenses of a five year old boy named Mio for treatment of cancer.

I was in tears while reading the blog oh her mom and I can just feel the pain and I can’t imagine myself being in that situation. Imagine. His son is only five years old, he still has a lot in store for him and to see your son suffer an excruciating pain is just a stab in my heart.

Their hospital bills are skyrocketing and so Mio’s mom is asking for support to help them sustain the treatment that Mio needs (this is why I was really reminded to look for affordable health insurance for my parents as they are not under my HMO right now, just so their health needs will be covered).

Luckily they have friends who organized a concert for Mio:

I love Kopirotti's Kaya Toast

I have been craving for Kopirotti’s Kaya toast for days now and luckily there is a Kopirotti store in front of my office. Hubby fetched me from work as he visited one of their offices in Makati and asked him to treat me for merienda.


Of course I ordered Kopirotti’s home made kaya toast. It is just actually ordinary toasted bread with butter and special jam. I first tasted this when I was waiting for my flight the last time I went out of the country and I really love it.

We ordered that meal which comes with 4 slices of kaya toast, soft boiled eggs (hubby got intrigued with the picture and the crew highly recommends it so he decided to have this) and tea (which I really love also). I am planning to have breakfast there tomorrow. Hopefully I will wake up early so I will have the time to drop by their store before I go to work.

My Family

I was happy to spend another fun day with my husband and daughter. Times likes this makes me really desire giving out Invitation Baby as we are hoping to have our second baby.

Nothing gives me much joy and happiness than my family. That is why after almost four years, I realized that I am ready for another baby shower because this means I am ready to get pregnant for the second time.

I am not sure though if I will play as it makes me feel scared but my sister and my other girl cousin is up for it.

Miami for him

My friend needs to go on vacation because he has gone through a lot lately. He doesn’t know where to go but he said that he wants to visit a place where he can just forget about everything and have fun.

Then suddenly I remember the site of Miami Dolphins Tickets. I know my friend loves football and he will really enjoy watching a football game and so I gave her the link to the site. My daughter will be celebrating her birthday soon and the party preparations made me realize that I miss giving out Baby Invitation to my friends which means that I already miss having a baby.

Finally got tickets to the NBA Asia Challenge

Last night, I thought that hubby will not be able to watch the NBA Asia Challenge tomorrow as we are having a difficult tome dealing the poor service of SM San Lazaro Ticketnet and the call center of Ticketnet. But with a twist of faith, from bad luck, hubby got the best news so far today as he was able to get for free Patron tickets for the NBA game.

Their company I think is one of the sponsors so they were able to get a lot of Patron tickets. I don’t know how he did (but I am sure he use his charm of maybe he literally beg), but he was so happy when he called me this morning to shared with me the good news.

The bad news is he was only able to get one ticket. We were able to buy Upper box seat for my cousin and hubby promised him that he will try again tomorrow to score one more ticket.

I am sure the two of them are excited for tomorrow’s event. Unfortunately, hubby is still in the office working but I am sure no matter how tired he is, he will still be pumped up while watching the game tomorrow.

Looking for a Host/Magician

I am so happy. I got the go signal from my daughter’s teacher that she is allowing us to celebrate our daughter’s birthday at school. This means I can start booking the entertainment for the school party.

My husband covered a birthday party last week and he like the Host/Magician, Pocholo. He is an all around entertainer as he does balloon twisting, magic show and ventriloquism. I asked my party planner if she can book Pocholo for me but I think she can’t contact Pocholo. He recommended another magician named Wacky and she said that he is great!!

I tried googling for information about Wacky but I can’t find his website (hope he uses free seo software so at least it will help him get a good positioning in the World Wide Web).

But I guess I don’t have to give too much fuss about this party. And besides according to my kumareng Peachy, if Angelette recommends it, then he is really good.

I am just waiting for the final contract from her and I will already pay the down payment. I am so excited already. I think I am more excited than my daughter. LOL.

Party Planning Mode

I know I promised hubby that I will be looking for cargo liner for our car (since our cargo liner is so dirty and has lots of scratches already), but I got excited with the new website that my friend shared with me.

We will be throwing a Little Einsteins themed party for our daughter’s 4th birthday. I know that there are not much Little Einsteins items that I can find in Divisoria or even in malls so I got really excited when I saw these Little Einsteins birthday party supplies from The Toy Hunt.


I know I promised hubby that I will not spend that much for this party but I just want to have some items as game prizes that are in line with the theme (LOL). And the price is a steal and it is even cheaper than mall prices. Who could resist that? LOL.

Still no Tickets

We are already giving up hope. I mentioned here that Howell and my cousin will be watching the NBA Asia Challenge this coming Friday. But luck was really not on our side:

• I called Ticketnet to make a reservation for the Lower Box seats and they don’t accept reservations by phone. They say that the promoter (Solar Sports) has ordered this.
• When I called Ticketnet last Sunday, they confirmed that there are a lot of seats left for the lower box. And when we went to SM last Monday to purchase the tickets, all lower box seats are gone, as in zero.
• So we are set on buying the Upper Box tickets instead since there are no more lower box seats left. The girl in the SM Ticketnet counter said “Sorry Ma’am, we can’t issue tickets today because our printer is not working.
• So the next day, we went to SM San Lazaro to buy the tickets. And guess what, their offline.
• Today, I went to SM San Lazaro again to buy the tickets and sad to say they are still offline.

SM San Lazaro Ticketnet sucks!! Ticketnet sucks!! But we will still try our luck tomorrow because I know how much my husband would love to see his NBA idols play live.

Is This a Good Idea?

I know it’s too early for me to think about Halloween parties but as you all know, I am always a well prepared mom that’s why I’m starting to look for places that we can go for our trick or treat. Every year, my cousin sends us Halloween Invitation from their building and almost every year, we visit them for the kids to enjoy the trick or treat.

But now, I’m thinking of doing the same for our closest friends. I’ll send them Halloween Party Invitations that I will order from Invitations-Shoppe and I will organize a small party for the kids including the adults. I know this can be a lot of hard work and effort but just for a change, I think I want to push through with this idea and start making my Halloween Invitations.

I am now a Pro

Yup, I upgraded my Flickr account to Pro. My kumareng Peachy have been convincing me for a long time now to upgrade my Flickr account to Pro and leave my old image hosting site. My old site is just a free account and it is the only reason why I am using it. But I figured, even if I have to pay $25 for one year, it is still worth it as the resolution of the uploaded images is being kept intact not unlike in my old image hosting site where the resolution of the pictures changes from high resolution to very low resolution after uploading.

It also offers unlimited uploads so no matter how big the size of my file is (which is always in MB since my husband uses a DSLR), I don’t have to worry if I am already over my limit. This can also acts as my backup for our pictures. (This reminds me that I have to look for secure online storage for our important files. Our PC is already acting strange and so I am worried that it will just crash one day. So I want to back up our files online before this happens).

Also, most of my friends are in Flickr so I can easily share my pictures and I can control who has access to view, download, print and share my images.

I started uploading pictures from our recent trip and I plan to move all our old pictures here. So far, I am loving Flickr and I don’t regret shelling out extra money to get this kind of good service.

Reunion and Halloween Party

One of my friend will be coming home for a vacation this coming October and so the whole gang decided to have a Halloween party for our get together. NBA game and Movie Date

As what I blogged here, NBA legends will be coming here in Manila for a showdown match with our PBA legends and stars. Of course, hubby was so excited when he learned about this from my cousin. He is one sports enthusiast and he even has NBA action figures of the NBA legends that will be coming here in Manila.

I wanted to surprise him and I will buy a ticket for him so he can watch together with my cousin who is one sports enthusiast too. My cousin and I initially planned to watch the showdown too but figured that we are not that interested anyways with the NBA players and so we don’t want to spend P2100 for that. So our plan is, while my husband and his brother is watching the game, we will just go to Gateway mall and have a movie date together with my sister while waiting for the boys. I think the movie of John Loyd and Lucky Manzano is already showing by that time so we plan to watch that movie.

I’m excited already. I am sure hubby will be happy with my treat for him and at least it will be an opportunity for me to have my “me” time. I can’t remember the last time, I went out to watch a movie. (So pathetic. LOL).

Our Company's Halloween Party

Halloween is the one of the most celebrated holiday. That is why as early as now I already receive a Halloween Invitation for our company party. All the employees will be required to come in their costume and whoever wears the most unique costume will get a price.

Although I got home sick while I was separated from my daughter during our vacation, it was indeed a good bonding time for me and hubby and now, I can’t wait to find out if we will be distributing baby shower invitations soon for our second baby. SATC Sequel

Oh my gosh, the Sex and the City cast have already started shooting for the sequel of the Sex and The City Movie. I am so excited. I am a real Sex and City fan and every time I watch the first movie, I still end up in tears every time I watch the part where Carrie was so mad with Mr. Big for ditching their wedding and all her friends are just all there to support her.

The movie is set to be release in May 2010. I have read some information about the story plot and it is really interesting.

- Carrie and Big will move to London since Big’s business will fall due to the economic recession and Big will end up cheating Carrie during his time of depression.
- Carrie will leave Big but she will find out that she is pregnant
- Samantha’s savings will be wiped out and she will try to live a very frugal but still fashionable life

I think all the original casts are still present for this Sex and the City sequel. I am sure it will be one big hit movie again. I just can’t really wait!!
