SG Day 3 & 4 – July 12 – 13, 2008

We spent half of our third day in Singapore at Sentosa. We took the cable car from the Marina Harbour City going to Sentosa Island. My mom got scared upon seeing the cable cars when we are purchasing our tickets and was asking me if there was another way to go to Sentosa. But we were able to convince her to try the ride and she never regretted it as she enjoyed it right from the start.

We first went to the Underwater World. Bela of course loved it there as she loves fishes so much. Imagine, she was able to see a Manitee, Sting ray, shark, Nemo and Dory. She was singing the entire time we are there.

But as for me, I was disappointed with the Underwater World. The Manila Ocean Park and the Atol reef of Hong Kong Ocean Park are far much better than the Underwaterworld.

Then we went to the Dolphin Lagoon to try to catch the Dolphin Encounter show. The show starts at 11 Am but we arrived there around 11:15 so we decided to have early lunch and wait for the 1:30 show.

We took the beach tram and had our lunch at the restaurants along Palawan beach. (Food here is cheaper. Rice meal only cost around SG $ 6.50 compared to SD $ 15-17 per meal at the Night Safari). The restaurant is just across the Palawan Amphitheatre so we were able to catch the Primate Encounter show there too.

After the show we head to the Dolphin Lagoon to watch the dolphin show. Too bad Bela is not in the mood as she is already sleepy but at least she watched the first half of the show.

We took the cable car again in going back to Harbour City and we proceed to Mustafa Center to buy some souvenirs and “pasalubongs”. I was also able to buy 2 Elizabeth Arden perfumes at SG $50. After Mustafa we went to Sim Lim Square to buy my video camera then head back to the hotel as mom, dad and Bela are tired already.

After bringing them to the hotel, Howell and I went to the malls along Orchard and checked out Toys R’ Us. Unfortunately, Howell was not able to find Mac Farlene toys that he was looking for and I did not find the Leapster I was planning to buy for Bela. Then we went to Paragon Mall and Tangs to buy some pasalubong for my sister.

We were so tired after doing all this that we decided to head back to the hotel and we were not able to buy anything for ourselves again.

The next day, we woke up early as we have to catch our 10:35 AM flight. We left the hotel around 8 AM and since there was no traffic, we were able to reach the airport only after 15-20 minutes.

Since we were early at the airport, we were able to buy some last minute shopping at the shops there. I bought quite a number of imported books for Bela since it is cheaper compared here in Manila. My mom was also able to buy a number of souvenirs also from the 3 for $10 store. LOL.

We are lucky as our flight was on time again and after almost four hours of flight, we are now back in Manila. I can’t wait for our next vacation. (Addict na ata ako sa vacation!! LOL)
