Hello everybody. We just got back from our Singapore vacation. We arrived last Sunday and I was still too tired that I was not able to go online. So its just now that I was able to sort our pictures and I am done with Day 1.
We left the house around 3:30 AM for our 6:35 AM flight. Check in was a breeze. I lined up for the travel tax while Howell lined up at the check in counter and in no time, we are already inside the gate waiting for our boarding.
We are lucky as our flight was not delayed. This is my first concern as I read a number of posts from n@w about their Cebu Pacific flights being delayed for more than 6 hours. We arrived around 10:13 AM in Singapore, got an airport taxi to drop us off at YMCA International.
It was also a breeze checking in at YMCA. I just presented them my hotel voucher and even though it is only 11:00 AM, we were allowed to check in to our rooms already. Our room is ok. Just enough for all four of us and it is clean (which is my number one priority). I like it too since the bus stop is just in front of the hotel and the Dhauby Gaut station of the MTR is just walking distance from our hotel.
We hit Orchard Road after leaving our luggage in our room and we had lunch in one of the malls there. Then we explore the city on our own. We went to the Merlion Park, the Esplanade Park, People’s Park (as requested by my dad) and we were able to check out some of the malls in Orchard Road.
My mom and dad were tired already while we are heading to Suntech City so we decided to proceed to People’s Park to have our dinner there. After dinner, we went back to the hotel while I and Howell went to Takashimaya, Wisma, Lucky Plaza, Tangs and Nge Ann City mall along Orchard. We first have to look for animal toys for Bela as she was looking for it and we forgot to bring it for this trip. We found a toy store in Takashimaya and we were able to buy quite a number of animal toys for Bela. I would have wanted to shop some more but I was already tired from all the day’s activities and so we head back to the hotel after that.
Day 2: Singapore Zoo and Night Safari (I will try to post this tomorrow).
