I just logged in to my online banking account to check our remaining balance for our housing loan and I was so happy since in just eight months, we will be finish with our loan and finally, we can proceed with our next which is our house renovation.
My husband has long wanted to proceed with this project but due to budget constraints, we kept on postponing it. And so while waiting for the availability of funds for this project, he started to consult his brother who is a civil engineer and he also started to do his own research so he is equipped with all the information that he needs when our house constructions begins.
Here are a few tips that he learned while doing his research:
* House construction is not simple and it involves a lot of steps that requires a professional. So it is really recommended to get a contractor to do all the house constructions steps for you.
* Before you hire a contractor, you have to ask around first if that contractor is reliable or not. Try to ask too for the contractor’s previous projects to gauge how efficient the contactor is.
* Before finalizing the contract with your contractor, ask for an estimate first for the total cost of the whole project, how many days it will take to complete the project and the breakdown of materials and cost.
* Use high quality materials for the construction of the house like Precast Concrete. My husband’s brother who is a civil engineer recommends that we use this type of material since it is of high quality since they are manufactured in a controlled environment and are very durable. It is also recommended for tropical countries since this type of material won’t deteriorate from exposure to sunlight.
My brother in law has been using precast concrete and Precast Concrete Septic Tanks for all his company’s construction requirements so he is sure that they are the best material to use.
* Make sure also that someone is always at the construction site to monitor the construction and make sure that all the materials that are being used is the one specified by the contractor.
* If you have a friend or a relative who is an engineer or architect, it would help that they are the one who will talk to the contractor as they have a better understanding of the technical details of the construction.
Looks like my husband is off to a good start and he already has a lot of information for our house construction project.
