My 2.7 year old daughter is afraid of the dark. At least, that is how she feels when we are in our bedroom. She got used to having the lights turned on in our bedroom the whole night so she doesn’t want to go to sleep not unless the lights are on. This is really not cost effective and environment friendly but we have this kind of setup ever since she was a baby so we can’t just abruptly start to turn off the lights in our room during bedtime, otherwise it would be difficult to put our daughter to sleep .
But prices for electricity are continually increasing so we have to look for ways on how to save and cut our electricity consumption. One way that I thought off is using lamps so we can have a little light in our bedroom so we can turn off our fluorescent light during the night and just leave the lamps on instead.
I told my husband about the idea and showed him some cute lamps and lampshades that I saw which I think would look good in our bedroom and he was open for the idea too. He admitted that he has long wanted to use lamps instead of the fluorescent lights as he, not like my daughter, is used to sleeping with the lights off.
He will be arriving this Saturday and hopefully we can do some shopping for table lamps this weekend so we can test how our daughter will react to the new setup and if it works, we might be able to save big bucks from our electricity bill.
