On cancer and Patrick Swayze

I didn’t know that Patrick Swayze has cancer (I’m really always the last one to know when it comes to news like this). I just found out about it when I read about his new show, and they say his doctors gave him a go signal to do the show despite the fact that he is undergoing treatment for cancer.

News about the 55 year old Patrick Swayze being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer spread last March. There was even news that spread that he has only 5 weeks to live after he was diagnosed with it but his representative dismissed all those rumors. His representative said that for the past month, he has been undergoing radical chemotherapy at Stanford University Cancer Center.

They say that the he is responding well to treatments that is why his doctors gave him a go signal to continue shooting for his show, the Beast. Patrick Swayze (who is famous for the movies Dirty Dancing and Ghost) will play the role of an FBI agent training a rookie partner while he is being investigated by Internal Affairs.

Patients with pancreatic cancer have less than five (5%) percent survival rate for five years. But they say that Swayze have the best doctors and I am wishing him well. I’m looking forward for his new show and to see him again on screen.

I only just read about this the other day in the paper, so you're not the only one who's totally out of touch... :D

It's sad, because he seems like such a nice person, doesn't he?
