Last week after Bela’s swimming class at Ace Water Spa, we decided to stay for a bit and use their spa facilities. Every time we avail of the spa service here, we never tried to use the sauna room as we always stayed at the pool side where there are hydrotherapy jet massage systems.But the last time we were there, Howell and I decided to stay at the sauna room for 10 minutes and we really love the experience. We feel refresh and relax after the 10 minute sauna session which made me regret why we haven’t used their saunas before.
And as I looked for more information about saunas, I learned that it really has a lot of health and therapeutic benefits. The sauna emits warm air that is absorbed by the body which produces sweat. Sweating is the body’s natural and safe way to heal because sweating helps flush out toxins and disease.
I learned that sauna really has a lot of benefits. Some of them include:
1. It is a great stress releaser as it gives a relaxing and soothing feel.
2. Since sauna induces sweating and sweating helps flush out toxins, using sauna regularly helps us detox ourselves of more toxins.
3. Sauna can help us loose weight since when we are inside a sauna room, our heart rate increase 50% above normal which is similar when we are doing light exercise or walking.
4. Sauna also helps rejuvenate skin since our blood flow increases as our heart rate increases which brings more oxygen and nutrients which helps in skin rejuvenation.
5. Sauna helps strengthen our immune system. When we are in a sauna room, our body temperature rises thus helps in producing more white blood cells thus increasing our immune system from colds and flu.
After learning all about the health benefits of sauna, it makes me want to have our own home sauna. This is really something that we should consider when we renovate our house.
