Life outside your native land

Ever since my friend move to Phoenix after graduating from college, her life was never the same. I was just talking to her the other day and she has been telling me how she misses the comfort that comes with living here in our own country. When she was still here in the Philippines, they have a house help that does everything for her from her laundry to cooking and anything else that needs help to. But after she moved to Phoenix with her husband, they have to learn to be independent and accept the fact that they have to do everything themselves.

When I asked her if she would recommend that we migrate to the US too like them, she would right away say that if we are living a comfortable life here – we were able to meet our basic needs and satisfy some of our wants, then we should just stay here in the Philippines. Imagine, they have to have double jobs just to make both ends meet plus they both have to work on weekends too so they never really have time to rest. And even though she is a Computer Engineering graduate, she finds it difficult to look for a job in the Information Technology field. So the jobs that they are getting are the blue collar job which does not really pay well.

And now that their family is growing, since she is now 6 months pregnant, they have to look for ways on how they can get a job that really pays well for the future of their family. They started by letting her husband take an online degree program from the University of Phoenix. This is the perfect setup for her husband since he is not required to report to the campus and he can access the online lectures and courses at his own convenient time.

My friend said that in just a few months, her husband would be able to finish her degree program and hopefully this would really help her husband in looking for a better job to secure their future.
