Will she go?

My best friend was offered a temporary assignment to Singapore by her boss. She wants to take the assignment as it means extra money for her since she will receive additional per diem allowance aside from her regular salary while she is on temporary duty. But what’s keeping her from accepting the offer is her present health condition.

She was on sick leave for two weeks now because she is having asthma attacks and is experiencing difficulty in breathing. Because of this, her mother doesn’t want her to accept the assignment since her mother is really worried about her health condition. She doesn’t want my friend to go since she is scared that nobody will take care of her daughter if ever she gets sick. Add to that the worries of hospital expenses in a foreign country.

So I suggested why not get a travel health insurance. This way she is secured that somebody will cover for her emergency medical expenses while she is on temporary duty to Singapore. My friend thought that it is a brilliant idea. She really wanted to accept the assignment so she really wants to find ways to convince her mother to let her go and this might be the solution to give her mother her peace of mind while my friend is away. Anyways, my friend will be gone for one month only so I’m sure she will be able to convince her mother to let her accept the temporary assignment.
