As a business man, I learned that promotion is one of the key factors that lead to the success of our business. We have been in the cellphone business for more than a year now, and if not for the promotional strategy that we implemented, I don’t think business will be as good as it is now.
Having a cellphone shop in Greenhills is not easy since there are hundreds of cellphone stores there, which means you have hundreds of competitors. When we first started in this business, we didn’t do any promotions like giving promotional items to prospective customers to promote our store. We just rely on luck if we will have a customer for that day or not. But then we realized that if we will continue to have that strategy, then our business will not prosper.
So soon, we started to make a marketing strategy on how to attract customers. We first started promoting our shop to our friends, relatives and colleagues. We did a text brigade to announce our store and gave out our contact numbers so they can easily contact us if they have any cellphone requirement. We also distributed promotional products like pens and bookmarks where are contact numbers are printed on them.
And I think our strategy worked since after doing that, we started to gain more customers. And what’s nice is that we're able to develop a good relationship with our customer that they will always return to us if they have another cellphone requirement. And for those returning customers, we even give corporate gifts like desktop calendars and mugs to make them feel really special.
I guess, promotion is really a key factor in the success of a business and we have proven that to be true.
