Our future home in the suburbs

I got a Happy Mother’s Day text message from my good friend, Malou, yesterday. I’ve known her and her family for four years now. We met when I went to Canada for training and my colleague introduced me to her. Since then we became good friends and every time I’m in Canada I always have to come and visit them.

But just last year, they moved in Boracay since her husband received a temporary duty here. And of course, we are their first visitor in their house in Boracay. They arrived here October last year and as soon as they arrived, they invited us over to come and visit them in Boracay. She has been raving about how she loves her new home there, and knowing Malou, I can already picture out how her house looks – overlooking Boracay beach with chic and modern furniture.

And I was not mistaken. I was awed by the beauty of her house too. What I like about it is that it has a great view of the island of Boracay since the house is sitting on top of a hill. Add to that her lovely and fab modern furniture. Of course, part of the Canadian culture was to give us a tour around the house so we we’re able to see all the rooms in their house complete with the best modern furniture that I really love.

From then on, her house has been our inspiration for our future house in the suburbs. We plan to renovate it next year and we would love to pattern it on their house. Imagine a modern house with modern furniture right in the middle of the suburbs. That is the kind of home that I would love to go home to everyday.
