I’m having some issues with my baby sitter. She has been with us for less than a year now. In the beginning I find her very reliable because compared with my other previous baby sitter she is the one who really takes good care of my daughter. But I feel that she is starting to show some attitude because one time I was home, I heard her shouting at my daughter when my daughter woke her up to ask her to get something. First and foremost, I don’t think she should be sleeping while my daughter is awake and second, even if my daughter woke her up, it is still not right that she shouts at my daughter.
I also learned from my mom that she has been doing this to my daughter regularly and even though my mother called her attention, she still continues to do it. There was even another situation when my dad went to our house to check on my daughter and was surprised to find out that my daughter was alone in the living room while my baby sitter is in the kitchen doing other personal stuff.
I know that the best thing to do is to let her go but we also can’t afford to loose her know because we all know how difficult it is to look for a baby sitter. So what my husband and I did was talked to her to call her attention.
I remember, there was a discussion before in the online group that I joined regarding using a nanny camera to watch babysitters. Right now I’m thinking of installing one because after what I learned from my parents, I have doubts now of the capacity of my baby sitter. At least, even if we are not home with our daughter, the nanny camera can record how our baby sitter interacts with her and can help eliminate all my doubts. This way, we will be able to monitor her and verify if it is still worth it to make her stay or should we just let her go.
But do you think it is just ok to record somebody using this hidden nanny camera without them knowing about it? For me, our goal for the installation of these hidden cameras is to ensure the safety of our daughter. This nanny camera are very useful since me and my husband are both working and so it is very useful to us to ensure that we are leaving our daughter in good hands. I don’t find anything wrong with this as long as we don’t abuse it and just use it really for the protection of our dear daughter.
