I had to drink a cup of coffee before bed time since I have to stay a little late because I have to finish something. But I think the caffeine is too much for me as it is already 1:44 AM and I am still wide awake. So I find blogging to be the best way to spend my time.
I remember my friend and a former colleague, Em asked me what my thoughts are on migration. You see majority of my friends have migrated either to Canada, US, Singapore, and London and every time they leave I always ask myself, should we be migrating too?
I’m not the adventurous type of person and I hate challenges. So the thought of starting a new life there and the thought that we will be all alone there really scare me. Another thing is, we are a closely knit family and I’m not used to being far away from my parents, siblings and close relatives (yup even to my extended family) so I’m pretty sure that home sick will be my number enemy if we migrate. Plus I don’t want to give up the living convenience that we get in living here.
My relatives in Canada have long been convincing me and my husband to migrate and they even promise to help us during our adjustment years. But up to now I’m still not convince to move our life there.
We really don’t have a perfect job but its enough to be able to meet our needs and some of our wants. I’m happy that way. I know they say that my daughter will have a better life there since her education will be free, we can easily buy our own house and lot and even a car, plus the health benefits are the best. I’m not closing our doors, but for the mean time, we would still prefer to continue our life here in the Philippines.
