My in laws will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this coming June 5. My husband together with his other siblings initially planned to organize a renewal of vows ceremony. They wanted to have a church ceremony complete with all the details – entourage, invitations, principal sponsors, flowers, wedding reception and around 200 guests. They wanted it to be a surprise and so all the preparations will be done by their children. All of their kids and grand children will be part of the entourage so that would be really memorable and meaningful.I was getting excited to help my husband’s sister prepare for the ceremony as I really love wedding preparations. (I remember when I was preparing for our own wedding; I was really a hands on bride to be.) I already started to check and to refer to my notes that I used when I prepared for our own wedding. I even started calling and inquiring to the churches and reception venue that they are considering. But I just talked to my sister in law and she told me that since they started planning a little late, they thought that they don’t have enough time for the wedding preparations. Plus when they asked their mom if she is ok with the idea of holding a renewal of vows, she is really not up to it. She said that she would rather have a relaxing vacation with her husband or with all her children and grand children.
So they suddenly had a change of plans and they have to look for another way to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of their parents. And suddenly I remember an article about Bible Land Christian Cruises. It is a Mediterranean cruise where they get to join Bob Cornuke and other Bible teachers as well as one hundred seventy believers aboard a shipping vessel that has the amenities of a private yacht. This Christian Family Cruise will set sail on July so it will just be a month away from my in-laws anniversary. Part of the cruise is visiting historical places in the Bible like Pergamum which is an important 7 churches site, Ephesus where Paul delivered a sermon and even the cave where John had been banished.
My in laws are very religious and for sure they will enjoy the on board and on shore teachings included in the Christian Cruise. I told my sister in law about this option and she loved the idea. She said that she will ask for her other siblings opinion but for sure this is definitely something that their parents will enjoy.
